Compare The Same Parcel And Measurement Stage
Keep actual gross weight, outer length, width, height and units for each finished parcel. Measurements taken before repacking may describe a different package. FedEx’s weight guidance explains that parcel dimensions matter when preparing a shipment and that packages may be weighed and measured again. Identify the selected service and market before applying a dimensional-weight rule. The weight printed on a label alone is not enough to reconstruct every billed charge.

Identify The Charge That Changed
UPS’s US charge-correction guidance distinguishes corrections involving package dimensions, entered weight and additional handling information. Compare the invoice line with the original booking and the measurements used at dispatch. Ask whether the difference concerns dimensional weight, a measured-weight change, an extra handling condition or a separate charge. Our recommendation is to keep these questions separate from taxes, destination service fees and the original product price, so that each disputed line has a clear explanation.

Prepare A Request For Review
Prepare the tracking reference, invoice number, shipment date, service name, final measurements, booking confirmation and supporting photographs. FedEx’s Australian FAQ describes requesting a weight adjustment through Billing Online with the proposed weight and dimensions; use that as a market-specific example, not a universal procedure. Confirm the responsible billing party, the available review channel and any deadline for your own shipment. A review request does not guarantee a credit. Recheck packed measurements and the written charging scope before the next dispatch.
