Read The Status In The Correct Carrier Context
UPS’s US tracking guide describes Label Created as receipt of shipment details and billing information. It says the status changes once UPS has possession of the shipment and it is moving in its network. FedEx’s Canadian FAQ describes Shipment information sent to FedEx as a package still at the shipper’s original location. These are carrier-specific explanations, not a universal translation of every label status. A label number or a seller’s dispatch message alone does not establish the parcel’s current physical location, customs position or delivery date.

Reconstruct The Handover With The Sender
Our recommended first step is to confirm that the displayed tracking reference belongs to the current parcel and has not been replaced. Ask the sender for the physical handover date, the pickup or drop-off location, the number of parcels and the receipt or collection record. If goods pass through a supplier, a consolidation warehouse and then a carrier, distinguish each handover. A warehouse receiving record concerns that warehouse; it should not be described as the carrier’s first scan. Compare the same package reference at every stage and record unresolved differences rather than guessing a cause.
Ask For A Precise Next Update
When records and tracking disagree, ask the sender or the party that arranged transport to request a carrier review with the handover evidence. Agree who will follow up and when the next information will be provided, without promising a scan deadline. Keep the original status wording and the time checked with the reply. Our preparation checklist is: current tracking reference, shipment date, parcel count, sender contact, handover evidence and the requested next action. Do not infer a customs hold, loss or a delivery guarantee from Label Created alone.
